California Dreamin Series Part 2:

A great weekend of training in San Francisco.

The First Day:

This past weekend Red Star Sailing Team members, Charlie Welsh, Kate Shaner, Alex Kraebel and Rex Cameron competed in the second stop of the California Dreaming Circuit held at Saint Francis. After a lengthy postponement, the first day two races were sailed on Saturday with the hopes of completing the rest of the round robin the following day.

"Tricky conditions on day one will dictate whether or not we have a regatta tomorrow"

Day Two:

The following day all the competitors showed up and were greeted with heavy San Fransisco fog. After a three hour postponement on land, everyone headed out with the hopes of being able to complete the race. Unfortunately, the forecasted wind did not transpire and we were sent back to the dock. Even though we did not complete the regatta we are very appreciative of the excellent hospitality displayed by the organizing authority and respect their decision to only provide fair and competitive racing. So thank you to Saint Francis Yacht Club for an excellent weekend. We look forward to competing in this event again next year. Hopefully, there will be wind next year!

Even though we were not able to complete enough races to have a regatta, it was still great sailing with a great group of sailors.
